About STEMCON

A One-Day STEM Extravaganza

STEMCON is a multifaceted experience, uniting four extraordinary educational events—CONSEF, STEM EXPO, RoboCON, and the Math Olympics—all in one action-packed day. With every competition, showcase, and interactive demonstration, students shine as innovators and problem-solvers.

We warmly invite you to attend and explore all of the events listed above free of charge. Guests are welcome to walk through the exhibition areas, observe competitions, and experience the excitement of STEM education up close—no tickets or registration required.

In addition, students in grades 5–8 are welcome to compete in the CONSEF Poster Session, where they can present their projects, receive feedback from experienced judges, and share their ideas with the community.

Whether you’re a parent cheering from the sidelines or a visitor exploring the cutting edge of STEM education, you’ll find inspiration around every corner. Join us for this celebration of innovation, creativity, and academic excellence.

The Concept Science and Engineering Fair (CONSEF) provides a dynamic platform for students to demonstrate the power of a STEM-focused education. With participation from more than 40 Concept Schools campuses and public and private schools from various regions, CONSEF showcases a remarkable variety of student projects, hands-on experiments, and interactive activities.

CONSEF is proudly open to all students in Grades 5–12, and we warmly invite young scientists, engineers, and innovators from diverse communities to participate. Whether you are just beginning your STEM journey or ready to present advanced research, CONSEF offers an exciting opportunity to explore, create, and shine.

Please read the information in this LINK if you would like to compete in the CONSEF Poster Session.

RoboCON is a robotics competition where students in grades 4–12 design, build, and program robots to compete in LEGO, VEX, and specialty challenges across multiple divisions, showcasing their skills, creativity, and innovative problem-solving.

RoboCON challenges students to design, build, and program robots that face off in thrilling competitions. From LEGO League to VEX IQ and beyond, these contests reveal the ingenuity, teamwork, and determination of young roboticists.

The Math Olympics program is a competitive event that celebrates students’ mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and logic skills as part of the broader STEMCON experience. The event brings together students in grades 4–12, from across the Concept Schools network, to tackle math problems under timed conditions, showcasing their ability to think critically and apply mathematical concepts beyond the classroom.

STEM EXPO celebrates science, technology, engineering, and math, showcasing young innovators from across the midwest as they bring their learning to life through interactive demonstrations and creative problem-solving.

Presenting models, prototypes, and experiments that illustrate key scientific principles in engaging and entertaining ways, STEM EXPO participants have the opportunity to refine their communication skills, tackle complex challenges, and inspire audiences with their ingenuity.

The STEMCON Design Contest program empowers students in grades 4–12 to explore creativity, problem-solving, and innovation through original visual design. The program challenges participants to think about real-world issues and express their ideas through meaningful, student-created artwork. It promotes ethical and authentic creation by encouraging research and brainstorming while requiring the final design to be entirely the student’s own work. Through recognition, awards, and teacher sponsorship opportunities, the program celebrates both student ingenuity and the educators who support them—making STEM learning a creative, inspiring, and community-driven experience.
